About ABV Architecture
We are a boutique architecture studio dedicated to creating thoughtful, site-specific homes throughout Costa Rica.
Adrian Bonilla Valverde
Founder & Principal Architect
With over a decade of experience designing homes across Costa Rica, Adrian founded ABV Architecture with a clear mission: to create architecture that honors both the land and the people who will inhabit it.
A graduate of the University of Costa Rica's School of Architecture, Adrian combines deep knowledge of local building traditions with contemporary design sensibilities. His work is characterized by bold structural expression, thoughtful use of natural materials, and an unwavering commitment to indoor-outdoor living.
Adrian is a licensed architect registered with CFIA (Colegio Federado de Ingenieros y Arquitectos de Costa Rica) and brings hands-on construction experience to every project.
Our Philosophy
We believe that great architecture emerges from a deep understanding of place, purpose, and the people who will call it home.
Site-Specific Design
Every project begins with deep respect for its location. We design homes that embrace their natural context, taking advantage of views, breezes, and the unique character of each site.
Sustainable Practice
We prioritize locally-sourced materials, passive cooling strategies, and responsible building practices that minimize environmental impact while maximizing comfort.
Collaborative Process
We believe great architecture emerges from genuine partnership. We listen carefully, communicate clearly, and ensure you are an active participant in every decision.
Attention to Craft
From the largest structural decisions to the smallest details, we bring meticulous care to every aspect of our work, ensuring lasting quality and timeless appeal.
